U.S. Representative Mike Bost, a Republican from Murphysboro, presented a military Bronze Star Medal to Colonel (Ret.) Michael L. Mann, of O'Fallon, for his service during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970, on Thursday, Feb. 9 at O'Fallon City Hall.

The "Stream Protection Rule" may sound like a good thing, but Congressman Mike Bost believes it doesn't do Southern Illinois any favors.

"It wasn't intended to protect the environment. It was intended to put our coal miners out of work, and sadly, it's been successful at achieving that goal," said Representative Bost.

Kitchens in all Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals would have to meet new standards under a new bipartisan bill that was introduced after cockroaches were reported in one VA hospital kitchen in Illinois. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Ill., proposed the legislation after a whistleblower reported last year that the kitchen of a VA hospital in Illinois was infested with cockroaches.

Buy American laws provide a preference to domestically-produced goods and services in federal procurement, such as investments in public infrastructure.

WASHINGTON -- Southern Illinois Congressman Mike Bost, of Murphysboro, says he is ready to work with incoming president Donald Trump on reforming healthcare, among other issues.

Bost specifically wants to work with the incoming president on infrastructure investments, curbing executive powers and repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.
