WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) announced a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration of more than $2.2 million to expand the terminal building at the Scott Air Force Base/MidAmerica Airport facility.

“MidAmerica is an important hub of transportation for many thousands of residents and military personnel in and around the Metro East,” said Bost. “This grant will allow for critical updates to the airport terminal building to improve passenger service so that MidAmerica can continue to serve the needs of Southern Illinoisans and connect our region to the rest of the nation for years to come.”

The federal grant will be used for the first phase of expansion of the terminal building to 95,127 square feet.
