Bost Announces Metro East Economic Development Grant
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost today announced a $210,000 Economic Development Administration grant for the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy for the region served by the Southwestern Illinois Metropolitan & Regional Planning Commission. The resulting strategy will bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
“This grant is a great sign for jobs and economic growth in St. Clair County and the Metro East region,” said Bost. “The grant will help kick start collaboration between local government and job creators in the private sector that will ultimately result in more jobs and economic growth.”
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant totals $210,000. The total project cost is $420,000. EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s merit, the applicant’s eligibility, and the availability of funds.
