Washington, D.C.—Speaker Paul Ryan has appointed Rep. Mike Bost to the joint House-Senate conference committee tasked with negotiating the final version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017.  An active member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Bost will serve as an outside conferee representing the committee’s views on matters specifically related to veterans’ policy.

“Mike Bost’s experience as a Marine and a leader on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee makes him a highly-qualified choice for the conference committee,” said Speaker Ryan.  “Although still a freshman in Congress, Mike has already made his mark on issues important to our nation’s veterans, and we are fortunate to have him lending his perspective to the upcoming negotiations.”

“I appreciate Speaker Ryan appointing me to the conference committee for NDAA,” said Rep. Bost.  “I know we have an important task ahead, and I couldn’t be more excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work on my first negotiations between House and Senate.  I look forward to helping shape the policies that will improve care and services for America’s heroes.”
