BOST VOTES FOR DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION BILL

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today voted for the National Defense Authorization Act, legislation that authorizes $1.15 trillion for the next fiscal year for national defense, including full funding for Boeing’s MQ-25 Stingray built in Mascoutah, and provides a pay raise to servicemembers.

"Peace through strength isn't just a slogan," said Bost. "It’s about having the factories, shipyards, and supply chains to produce the equipment to keep us safe and never depending on our adversaries for the tools our troops need. I voted for this bill to bring defense production back home, strengthen our deterrence abroad, and give our servicemembers a well-earned pay raise, along with better housing and childcare. There’s nothing more ‘America First’ than that."
 
The Fiscal Year 2027 NDAA includes:

  • $1.15 trillion authorized for national defense

  • A 5 to 7 percent servicemember pay raise, plus better housing, education, and childcare for military families

  • Full funding for the MQ-25 Stingray, built in Mascoutah, Illinois, at $513.3 million, the full amount requested

  • Multiyear procurement of F-35 and F-15EX aircraft, Arleigh Burke class destroyers, and Virginia class submarines

  • Army 155mm artillery production ramped to 100,000 rounds per month

  • Stronger nuclear deterrence and missile defense against China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea

  • Billions cut in waste, driving toward a clean Pentagon audit within 24 months
