Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Mike Bost (IL-12) voted for the America’s Small Business Tax Relief Act (H.R. 636). The bill is a package of three tax bills that are intended to help reduce taxes on small businesses.
“Southern Illinois and America need a true economic recovery by helping the life-blood of our economy—small businesses,” said Rep. Bost. “Even though our nation may be showing some signs of recovery, we still have too many people unemployed due to job-killing taxes which halt business expansion and entrepreneurship.
“I will continue to fight for job creators and hardworking middle class families in Congress. As we move to put in place these fixes, we must work toward comprehensive tax reform that makes our system simpler, flatter, and fairer, with lower rates for everyone,” added Bost. “That’s what’s needed to grow our economy and help create good jobs from the ground up.”
H.R. 636 will give small businesses the certainty they need to grow.
-
By allowing small businesses and farms to plan for the future; and
-
With sensible steps, we can take to add a little certainty to our broken tax code.
