Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressmen Mike Bost (IL-12) released the following statement concerning the U.S. Labor Department’s jobs report that indicated only 126,000 jobs were added during the month of March:
“I am disappointed at today’s report indicating that the U.S. economy last month created the fewest jobs since December of 2013. This is a problem that's rooted in bad policy, as the President and his Administration continue to spend more money than we take in, ignore our massive debt, intensely overregulate, and raise taxes when we should be doing the exact opposite. When hardworking people in Southern Illinois and folks around the country are able to keep more of their paychecks and small businesses are free from overregulation, only then can we have a sustained economic recovery.”
