Washington, D.C.—Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) announced the Williamson County Regional Airport will receive a $4,066,596 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the construction of a new airport terminal in Marion.
“This is a significant investment in an important hub of transportation for many thousands of residents in and around Williamson County,” said Rep. Bost. “This airport is seeing an increase in traffic and the construction of this new terminal is another sign this expanding airport continues to add to the economic growth of Southern Illinois.”
Williamson County Regional Airport is the region's sole primary commercial service airport providing daily flights to St. Louis, generating over $21 million in annual economic impact.
