Washington, DC – Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) today welcomed U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) as a newly appointed member of the Committee.
“Congressman Bost’s background in small business and in the state legislature makes him a great addition to the Transportation Committee,” Shuster said. “His various experiences and perspectives as a small business owner and a manager in his family’s trucking business, as a first responder, and as a pilot will serve him well, and benefit the work the Committee does in overseeing the nation’s transportation network and federal emergency response programs. I welcome him to the Committee, and look forward to working together.”
“As someone who grew up in and later managed a family trucking business, I am excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the committee,” said Bost. “Under Chairman Shuster’s leadership, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has been an important voice for job creation, economic growth, and regulatory reform. I look forward to bringing my firsthand experience to the dais for these important deliberations.”
Rep. Bost has also been appointed to serve on three subcommittees including Highways and Transit; Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials; and Water Resources and Environment.
Rep. Bost was appointed to fill an existing vacancy on the Committee.
