Washington, D.C. —Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) announced today that Southern Illinois fire departments have until Friday, May 6th, to apply for Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG). The grant program, offered by the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency, provides funding to first responders to acquire new equipment, emergency vehicles, and training.
“As a former firefighter, I understand how important it is that our first responders have the equipment and resources necessary to keep our families safe,” said Rep. Bost. “These critical resources can go a long way in helping small fire companies continue to serve our communities in the most secure and efficient way possible.”
