WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost announced today that he has been appointed chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs.  The responsibilities Bost will oversee as chairman include management of our national cemeteries, reforming the claim appeals process, and reviewing the quality and training methods of the Veterans Benefits Administration.

“Rep. Mike Bost is a worthy choice to lead the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs,” said Veterans’ Affairs Committee chairman Phil Roe.  “He has been a tireless advocate for veterans in his tenure on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and I’m confident he will effectively lead the subcommittee in this new role. I look forward to working alongside Rep. Bost as we continue our work to honor our nation’s heroes and improve disability claims processing at VA.”

“As a veteran, I am honored to serve our heroes as chairman of this important subcommittee,” said Bost.  “We have a lot of work to do in strengthening the disability claims process and meeting the needs of our veterans.  I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get working with my colleagues on implementing positive reforms.”
