WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost issued the following statement regarding House passage of a budget resolution that sets the stage for Congress to begin the process of repealing and replacing Obamacare:

“Obamacare has failed.  House approval of this budget resolution begins the process for repealing this misguided law and replacing it with patient-centered reforms that expand options, lower costs, and increase access to quality care.  These reforms are not intended to restrict access to health care; they are intended to empower more Americans to get the help they need.

“Today’s vote is not the end of the process.  It’s the beginning of a thoughtful, step-by-step process that will involve input from patients and doctors, Republicans and Democrats.  For Southern Illinois families who have seen their premiums increase by up to 71% under Obamacare, I think that’s the kind of conversation we need.”
