Marissa – U.S. Representatives Mike Bost (IL-12) today hosted a “Tailgate Talk” at Otten Farms in St. Clair County.  He provided an update on the Farm Bill to Southern Illinois farmers and received feedback on current issues facing the agriculture industry.

“These ‘Tailgate Talks’ allow me to get a feel for the challenges our farmers in Southern Illinois are facing,” said Bost. “We had a very frank discussion about trade policy and the pressures they face by declining commodity prices. But the bottom line is we agree that agriculture is vitally important to Southern Illinois and getting a strong Farm Bill through Congress is essential for the wellbeing of our rural economy.”
