WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (R-IL) today introduced bipartisan legislation to designate the Illinois Air National Guard 126th Air Refueling Wing at Scott Air Force Base as a Center of Excellence for KC-135R maintenance operations.

“The 126th is the best of the best,” said Bost. “Time and again they have set the standard in maintenance operations. Designating the 126th Air Refueling Wing as a Center of Excellence will give them the recognition they have duly earned and will allow other units to look to them as an example to strive for as well.”

“This legislation recognizes the aviation expertise of the hardworking airmen of the 126th Illinois Air National Guard,” said Executive Director and CEO, Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois Dr. Ronda Sauget. “Clearly, the nation-wide status of being the best aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul team for KC-135 aircraft in the Air Force speaks for itself. We are so proud of their work and dedicated service to our country!”
