WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today voted for the Further Surface Transportation Extension Act, which would extend funding for federal highway and public transportation programs, including the Highway Trust Fund, until December 3^rd. Without an extension, funding for these programs is due to lapse on Sunday.

 

“Four weeks ago, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats claimed that they just needed a little more time to finalize their socialist tax and spending spree bill,” said Bost. “Yet a month later, they have yet to get their house in order and have neglected other issues, like funding for these critical highway programs, in the process. These short-term program extensions, while necessary because of the Democrats’ incompetence, are not how we should be governing. Democrats should quit their games and work with Republicans to come up with a long-term solution.”
