WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) released the following statement after the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced their recommendations for the VA medical facilities that should be modernized, realigned, or closed under the Assent and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Act, including the realignment of several departments at the Marion VA:
“Modernizing our VA system is critical, as is ensuring that our veterans can get the care they need when and where they need it,” said Bost. “The AIR Commission will spend the next year studying these recommendations before they make a final decision, which will ensure that no immediate changes are made to Marion or any other Southern Illinois facility. I will continue working to ensure that any Southern Illinois veterans impacted by these potential changes to Marion will still continue to receive the care they need and have earned.”
