WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) cosponsored a House resolution calling for amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibiting individuals who are not American citizens from voting in federal, state, and local elections.

“As American citizens, our right to vote and have a voice in our government is sacred,” said Bost. “However, liberal cities like New York and Washington, D.C., are pushing legislation that allows non-citizens to vote in our elections. This is insanity; illegal immigrants and foreign agents should never be able to influence the course or composition of our government. I’m proud to support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that ensures the right to vote in our elections is one reserved for American citizens only.”
