WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) voted today for the National Defense Authorization Act, legislation that fully funds military priorities for the upcoming fiscal year and provides servicemembers a 5.2% pay raise. The bill also targets the Biden administration’s efforts to inject divisive social policy into the military, restricting funds from being used for abortion services, to teach Critical Race Theory, or to expand gender identity and climate change initiatives.

“Congress has no greater responsibility than providing for the national defense and ensuring our brave men and women in uniform have the resources and support they deserve,” said Bost. “The Biden administration has sacrificed recruitment and readiness for social justice campaigns and virtue signaling. I pleased that House conservatives took action and passed a Defense Authorization bill that fully funds the military, provides a pay raise for our troops, and puts a stop to the woke nonsense that weakens our military.”

The Fiscal Year 2024 NDAA includes:

  • $886 billion for national defense programs
  • 5.2% pay raise for active duty servicemembers
  • Reforms to strengthen oversight and fiscal accountability at the Pentagon
  • Funding to counter Chinese aggression, including the CCP’s spy balloon program and efforts to purchase land near U.S. military installations
  • No funding for abortion services
  • No funding for teaching Critical Race Theory
  • No funding for a Chief Diversity Officer and advisory committee to advance gender identity and social justice initiatives
  • No funding for climate change programs
