WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) departed for Normandy, France Wednesday afternoon with a bipartisan Congressional Delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The House members will take part in observances of the anniversary alongside veterans and their families, active servicemembers, government and military officials and foreign dignitaries.
"As a Marine and chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, it is my honor to help commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day at the shores of Normandy,” said Bost. “We must never forget the heroes of June 6, 1944, and the tremendous sacrifices they made to restore freedom and peace across the globe.”
