WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) announced today a $2.7 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration Emergency Relief Program for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to repair lasting damage caused by May 2019 flooding. The sites include Carlyle Lake, the Kaskaskia Project Area, and locations in Central Illinois and Southeast Missouri.
“These flood recovery funds are critical for restoring access to vital infrastructure in our rural communities," said Bost. "By supporting projects like these, we are ensuring that our local roadways, bridges, and trails are safe and accessible for residents and visitors alike."
The 2019 floods caused significant damage to roads, bridges, and trails managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and deposited debris across public travel ways in multiple project areas.
