Today, Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) issued the following statement in response to the Illinois Department of Insurance's health care rate filings for 2017, which indicate that premiums could increase by up to 45 percent next year:  "Today's announcement of massive increases in health insurance premiums is the predictable outcome of the President's health care law. The President promised Obamacare would save the average family $2,500 a year, while letting Americans keep their doctor of choice. Instead, the law has resulted in double digit rate premium rate increases, kicked thousands of Illinoisans off their existing plans, and reduced options and access to care. To make matters worse, Washington Democrats cut $800 billion from Medicare to fund this disastrous law.
