The title now official, U.S. Rep. Mike Bost said his first day as a member of Congress has been “unbelievable.”

“You just can’t even describe it,” the Murphysboro Republican said Tuesday afternoon from Washington, D.C., in a phone call with The Southern Illinoisan. “It’s just crazy how fast-paced it’s been, but there are these little moments that click where you go, ‘Oh my goodness.’”

Bost said those moments included taking the oath of office for the 114th Congress, and his grandson, Spencer Fred, pinning on grandpa Bost’s congressional pin.
