WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) issued the following statement on Tax Day:
“Taxes and celebration usually don’t go in the same sentence, but this year is different,” said Bost. “This is the last year for Americans to file their federal tax returns under our old, outdated tax code. Starting in 2019, Tax Day will reflect the historic tax cuts we passed late last year. The savings are significant. A typical family of four in Southern Illinois will see a tax cut of $2,232. Less money taken out of your paycheck means more money freed up to provide for your family and invest in your future.”
