Washington, D.C.— Wednesday morning, Congressmen Mike Bost (IL-12) baked bread, kneaded dough, and served customers at the family-owned Duke Bakery in Alton for his first "Take Your Congressman to Work Day" event.  The program, which Bost will continue to host on job sites throughout the 12th District, is a way to highlight the successes of locally owned and operated businesses and to better understand the work their employees do on a daily basis.

“Our 'Take Your Congressman to Work Day' program is a fun way to highlight the great work Southern Illinois' job creators are doing to grow our local economy," said Rep. Bost.  "Coming from a small business background myself, I know what a commitment it takes as a family to maintain and grow a business.  Since 1951, the Doucleff family has been successful with their family-owned bakery by expanding to another location and building a warehouse to serve area restaurants and grocery stores.  The company is now in its third generation of ownership and is still going strong with the help of some truly dedicated employees."
