Washington, D.C.—Today Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) applauded the St. Louis region for receiving the Abilene Trophy for its support and commitment to Scott Air Force Base. The Abilene Trophy is presented to the one of 13 eligible communities in the United States that is most supportive of its local Air Force Base.
“The St. Louis region is unmatched in its support for Scott Air Force Base, its operations, and the dedicated airmen and their families who call Scott AFB home,” said Rep. Bost. “The bond between the base and the surrounding community is unbreakable, and reflective of the true spirit of America. I congratulate the St. Louis Region for winning this coveted award for the second time in just three years.”
The Abilene Trophy was presented to leaders of the St. Louis Region by the Air Mobility Command during a ceremony at the MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah, Illinois on Wednesday. Shortly after being sworn into office, Rep. Bost sent a letter to Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Chair Grey Bridwell in support of the St. Louis Region receiving the Abilene Trophy.
