WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to news reports of veterans experiencing long wait times for service from the Marion VA Health Care System, U.S. Rep. Mike Bost today appealed to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Denis McDonough, for answers and plan of action to eliminate the delays.

“Southern Illinois veterans have reported call wait times of nearly an hour to get the help they need. That’s simply unacceptable,” said Bost. “I have appealed to VA Secretary McDonough for a full accounting of the scope of the problem and look forward to receiving a plan of action to fix it. Our veterans shouldn’t be forced to sit on hold for an hour to get the simple answers they deserve.”
