Washington, D.C.— Today Congressmen Mike Bost (IL-12) honored long-time Belleville-area mailman Don Fix for taking action to help an injured Swansea couple who had fallen and needed help.

 

“When some of us wouldn’t notice the unusual, 20-year postal carrier Don Fix did,” said Rep. Bost.  “Don noticed that mail was piling up at the home of a couple he knew well.  After checking the couple, he heard a voice from the inside the house call for help.  Don sprang into action and called the paramedics, who then got the couple to the hospital.  Don is more than just your neighborhood mailman—he also delivers care and compassion to his community.  For that, Don is an everyday hero, and I was proud to recognize him on the House floor today.”
