Washington, D.C. —Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) authored a bipartisan letter today to negotiators of the National Defense Authorization Act urging that no construction funding be approved for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s next western headquarters until two Inspector General investigations into the site selection process are completed.  Bost’s letter was signed by 11 other Illinois House members from both parties.

“I am pleased that my Illinois colleagues from both parties have supported our fight to withhold NGA-West funding until we’ve got answers on the flawed site selection process,” said Bost.  “It’s simple good government to have a full accounting of the facts before asking taxpayers to foot the bill for this $1.7 billion national security priority.  I am hopeful the Conference Committee will weigh our concerns about mission security, public safety and environmental impact more carefully than NGA itself ever did.”

Bost was joined on the letter by Reps. Rodney Davis, Bobby Rush, John Shimkus, Adam Kinzinger, Tammy Duckworth, Dan Lipinski, Peter Roskam, Cheri Bustos, Bill Foster, Randy Hultgren, Bob Dold and Darin LaHood.
