BOST VOTES NO ON DEMOCRATS’ INFRASTRUCTURE BILL

November 5, 2021 - November 6, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) voted Friday evening against Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, which adds over $256 billion to the deficit and increases spending by $550 billion over the next five years. The plan directs less than half of new spending to traditional infrastructure projects, while increasing funding for Green New Deal programs.

“From the start, I have been committed to addressing our nation’s glaring infrastructure needs in an effective and forward-thinking way,” said Bost. “But the Washington Democrats have been content in going it alone, funding their Green New Deal agenda over roads, bridges, ports, and airports. To make matters worse, President Biden and the far left made clear that passage of the infrastructure bill is tied to approval of their massive, multi-trillion-dollar socialist spending spree. As a conservative, I am unwilling to help the D.C. liberals fund their big government agenda.”
